COVID-19

I’ve been posting a lot about my previous travels as traveling is difficult right now. The entire world is dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. I haven’t touched on it since launching my blog as the experience is somewhat different depending on where you are in the world and I’m dreaming of happier times. But if we are to look back at this time, I suppose I need some sort of record as to what is going on in the world. I am here in the northeast of the United States. Here we are luckily doing well considering the circumstances. Are we COVID free? Definitely not, but we are managing it. That’s meant a lot of changes however. In my state we were doing a phased approach to re-opening our economy. We were never entirely shut down. All essential businesses (grocery stores, deliveries, hardware stores, pharmacies, and medical) were open. Restaurants were open for take out. We moved from phase 1 to phase 2 rather quickly and they have indefinitely halted phase 3. In phase 1 they allowed retail that was closed (clothing stores etc) to re-open as well as restaurants for outdoor seating. Of course there are certain restrictions with this but it was a start. I began to venture out for outdoor dining about a week after it began. In phase 2 indoor dining began as well as some entertainment such as gyms, driving ranges, etc. I’ve checked out an amusement and water park geared towards kids a couple of times as well as a zoo. All of which was outside. I’ve still been rather nervous about checking out the indoor stuff for an extended period of time, especially as spikes have been found in some communities in my state. Even though phase 3 didn’t start yet they did allow movie theatres to open about a month after phase two began, though many of the theatres here have remained closed. I luckily have not met anyone who has had COVID at this point so luckily all are healthy and well. I hope we are all able to get back to traveling soon (when it is safe) but until then, I’ll continue to try to inspire bucklist additions for you all. I’d like to hear where everyone is from and how you are all doing. Feel free to drop a comment. Stay safe and keep dreaming!
