New Years Day Walk

On New Years Day the kiddo and I headed into Newport, RI to the Cliffwalk to take a walk. Sure it was cold, it’s New England in January, but it wasn’t bitterly cold, especially for being on the water and we spent a good amount of time outside taking in the sites. we had a wonderful time climbing the rocks, then running around the lawn of the mansions. L very much takes after me and thrives when he is by the water.

After our time in Newport we headed back to Middletown where we went to the beach across from the hotel. For much of the time we had the area to ourselves. It was much colder there than at the Cliffwalk but we still enjoyed digging for seashells and running on the sand. The ocean in the winter is so much more calming than in the summer. You can hearing the calming waves without all the screaming kids/drunk people.
